A cartwheel without putting the hands down. The most technically correct form is the "gymnastic aerial," where the move is actually a full rotation around the performer's Z axis (flip), with a takeoff that happens one foot at a time. While still considered an invert by definition, the feeling of the karate aerial is most similar to a butterfly.
