A variation on a backflip, a flashkick is a where
one leg kicks out of the backflip during rotation.
The performer's body stays otherwise straight
during the move (as in a backflip, no rotation
around the
Y axis). The move is considered to
have better technique when varied off of a
"whipback" backflip so that the performer's
back is arched before he kicks. This move is
often performed with a gainer takeoff.
